Tuesday 24th April, 8:00 pm – 10.30pm
HART is organising an evening walk round Kenchester Pools, a cluster of glacial kettle hole ponds 4 miles west of Hereford. We will be focusing on amphibians – all five widespread British species are present – but we should also see a range of other pondlife.
Time: Meet at 8:00 pm, Tuesday 24th April. We should finish around 10 to 10:30 pm.
Directions: Park inside the field gate at SO43534283, where the footpath from Court Farm to the Weir Garden crosses the lane (the old Roman road). The field is on the south side of the lane; once you go through the gate there is some hard-standing on your left. Link to map on OS website
Bring: Appropriate footwear (wellies), waterproofs, warm clothing and a hot drink/snack if you want it. Pond margins are likely to be muddy. A torch and/or headtorch will be useful for walking in the dark and inspecting the ponds. Optional: camera with flash, notebook & pen/pencil.
Contact: The walk will be led by Will Watson. Please contact HART to let us know if you are coming and if you have any questions about the event or directions.
Participants must be HART members.
